Barnes-Jewish Family Loses One Of Their Own: Sally Hermann

The Barnes-Jewish family lost one of their own last week. Sally Hermann, who helped create a center for cancer patients to get not only information, but support, passed away last week at age 84.

One of the landmarks on our medical center campus, thanks to Hermann, is the Barnard Health and Cancer Information Center. It’s an outstanding resource for those needing any information about cancer. Registered nurses are there to help guide patients with just about any literature you could ever need. It’s also home to countless wellness events. “Turban Renewal” and “Arts as Healing” are two that come to mind.

The Post-Dispatch’s Michael Sorkin wrote a wonderful obituary about Sally we encourage you to read. Her leadership and ideas helped make the cancer information center into not only a resource, but a gathering place for our cancer patients.

She is in our thoughts and our condolences to her family.
